About your notification settings

The settings are divided into two types:

How you receive notifications

These settings relate to notifications from rundls, which are the most important notifications you can get.

Automatically watch my rundls

The way you get notifications from a rundl is by "watching". Watch to subscribe to all notifications related to a rundl, like status updates, messages, comments etc..

NOTE: This setting controls what happens by default when you're added as a participant in a rundl. You can still Watch or Un-watch an individual rundl by toggling the watch setting within that rundl:

This gives you flexibility to opt in or out of notifications for special cases or at special times in the process.

Always receive message/comment notifications when I'm active in a conversation

You can make a special case for messages/comments if you get "mentioned". If you'd choose not to watch your rundl (i.e. to avoid too much noise), when someone explicitly tries to communicate with you may not notice. With this setting you can just get notified in these cases.

Types of email notifications you receive

These settings let's you control emails you receive for different categories of email notifications.

The following 3 categories will be vary based on your "How your receive notifications" settings, as described above. You need to be "Watching" a rundl to control for different types of emails.

  • Status updates on rundls and steps
  • Messages and comments
  • Rundl participant updates

NOTE: In the current version, if you get "mentioned" in communications, and Messages and comments is off, this is overridden and you will receive an email. In our next version Rundl will support in-app notifications and the setting will apply for mentions.

Order updates

If you're a service provider, you can get a notification email when someone orders your service.

Service subscriber updates

You can get a notification email when you're invited to a service.

Group updates

If you're a group member, you can get notifications about changes to your group.

Email address for notifications

Rundl allows you to set up multiple email addresses, such as your work and personal emails. If you have multiple emails, you can now configure which email you'd like to receive notifications at.

Advanced notifications settings

The settings described above are your default settings for notifications on Rundl. You can also override these settings in different ways. These advanced cases are designed for hosts and business users.

Customise how you receive notifications for specific services

  1. Click the blue Customise how you receive notifications for specific services button.
  2. Choose any service
  3. Customise your settings.

For example:

  • Always watch rundls for a specific service because you're personally responsible for delivering that service. In other services you might be just an observer and not need to get notifications.

Customise the types of emails you receive for specific groups

This option is available if you're a member of a group.

  1. Click the blue Customise the types of emails you receive for specific groups button.
  2. Choose any service
  3. Customise your settings.

For example:

  • You might like to receive notifications for your group at your work email address, but otherwise receive emails at your personal email address.

Customise the types of emails you receive for specific contexts

This option is available if you're a member of a group, and if you've applied a specific group setting. When viewing your custom group settings, you'll see a further button to customise down to the next level for contexts within your group.

  1. Click the blue Customise the types of emails you receive for specific contexts button.
  2. Choose any service
  3. Customise your settings.

If you're a member of a group, choose a context group and customise your settings. For example:

  • You might like to receive all notifications when participating as your Operations team, but when participating as your Accounts team, just get notifications for status updates so you can chase up a final bill when the job is done.
