Creating, pausing and closing a service

Services are the blueprints for transactions delivered on Rundl. Each service provides helpful information that explains what the serivce is about and aids discovery. It also presents a detailed interface to the operation of the service, including process steps, participant roles and access permissions and other settings. A service is owned by a group account holder and is managed by trusted members with administrative privileges. Publishing a service allows an account holder to take orders for that service directly on Rundl.

You can create platform services once you are on a standard plan.

To create a platform service:

  1. Go to the Rundl for work dashboard by clicking the rundl_for_work.jpgUse Rundl for work button.
  2. Click on the platform service you wish to use.
  3. Review the service content, i.e. steps
  4. Click add_this_to_your_account.jpg
  5. Enter a service Name and Description.
  6. Choose a Manager for the service.
  7. Click add_service.jpg

Note: If you already have a service, click the Add new service button to make the available platform services visible. 

 


You can also build and modify your own custom service. This gives you full control over the service model.

To create a custom service:

  1. Go to the Rundl for work dashboard by clicking the rundl_for_work.jpg Use Rundl for work button.
  2. Click "Add a service"
  3. Click the "Build your own service" block.
  4. Enter a service Name and Description.
  5. Choose a Manager for the service.
  6. Choose a Category for your service.
  7. Click add_service.jpg

 


When you need to use Build mode (for example when updating steps, roles or permissions) pause the service, make changes, then go live again. Pausing restricts people from starting new rundls while you're making changes.

To pause a service:

  1. Navigate to the Rundl for work dashboard by clicking the rundl_for_work.jpg Use Rundl for work button.
  2. Choose a Service.
  3. Open the menu side-bar by clicking the open_menu.jpg Open Menu button at the top right of the content header.
  4. Toggle the Operational status.
    The service is paused.

NOTE: When you're finished updating, make the service live again using the toggle button.

 


To close a service:

  1. Navigate to the Rundl for work dashboard by clicking the rundl_for_work.jpg Use Rundl for work button.
  2. Choose a Service.
  3. Open the menu side-bar by Click the the open_menu.jpgOpen Menu button at the top right of the content header.
  4. Click Close service.
